Fire-Star Orchid (Epidendrum radicans) is a vibrant and radiant orchid native to La Palma in the Canary Islands, known for its vigorous growth, and forgiving nature (compared with most orchids, which tend to be sensitive and difficult to grow). In some areas like Hawaii and Central America, it is actually a common roadside weed and sometimes considered a nuisance because it has naturalized to near invasive levels after years of landscape use. Just goes to show, that weeds are really just flowers growing where they “shouldn’t” be.
