The White Water Rose (Nymphaea alba), was once in the same family as Lotus (Nelumbo species) Flowers, and has a similar symbolism, as it shares a similar path as an aquatic flower. Both are a perfect analogy for the human condition, because in order to blossom into the most beautiful flower, they most both first pass through murky and muddy waters. The biggest difference between these two species, is that Water Rose Flowers float on the waters surface, while Lotus Flowers rise above the waters surface. This flower was blooming in Kula, Maui.
