Passion fruit (Passiflora edulis forma flavicarpa) also known as Lilikoi in Hawaii, is a climbing vine of Passion flower that is native to southern Brazil through Argentina. It produces golden yellow or vibrant purple egg shaped fruits, with a deliciously tart, tangy, and sweet pulp on the inside. It produces fruit year round, but has a big flush in the summer season where one vine can bear hundreds of fruits, and can often be found abundantly on the forest floor in areas where it is naturalized. This one was growing in Haiku, Maui.
